In 1900, the British Governor to Ceylon, Sir West Ridgeway, granted this property on behalf of Queen Victoria to tea planter Sir Edward Rosling.
Since then, the property has had numerous owners of Sri Lankan origin who have welcomed guests from all over the world, cultivating a sweet sentiment associated with the name 'Netherleigh’.
In 2021, the Bungalow was taken over by us, a family looking for a quiet escape from the busy Capital of Colombo.
We found a place that revitalises all five of our senses with its:

What we provide
- Five spacious en-suite bedrooms with hotel-grade linen and towels, hand wash and body wash. Some bedrooms even have walk-in closets!
- An open-living room concept with a television and a traditional fireplace (which can be lit on request).
- A cosy tea nook to enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan tea, or coffee.
- Multiple beautifully-manicured gardens and lawns.
- A dining room:
- If you provide the groceries, our cook can prepare Sri Lankan dishes or simple Western dishes for a nominal Kitchen Fee per group sitting.
- BBQ facilities are available on request.
- Free Wi-Fi is available in the common areas.
